Custom Dressing Rooms in 6th October & Sheikh Zayed — Your Complete Guide

If you live in 6th of October or Sheikh Zayed and you’re thinking about building a dressing room, you’ve probably already hit the same wall most people hit — you walk into a furniture store, you see something that looks good, and then you realize it doesn’t fit your space, doesn’t match your taste, or costs more than you expected for something that isn’t even made for you.

That’s exactly the problem a custom dressing room solves.

At WOODCRAFT, we’ve been designing and manufacturing custom dressing rooms in Egypt for over 35 years. This guide walks you through everything you need to know before making a decision — types, materials, sizing, accessories, and what actually affects the price.

First Things First — Do You Actually Need a Dressing Room?

A lot of people think a dressing room is a luxury. It’s not. It’s a storage decision.

If your bedroom wardrobe is always overflowing, if you spend ten minutes every morning looking for something, or if your clothes are living on a chair — you don’t have a wardrobe problem. You have a space problem. And a well-designed dressing room fixes that completely.

The good news is that you don’t need a massive room to have one. At WOODCRAFT, we’ve built functional, elegant dressing rooms in spaces as small as 2 square meters. It’s all about how the space is designed.

Types of Dressing Rooms — What’s the Difference?

Open Dressing Rooms

Everything is visible, accessible, and on display. No doors, no panels — just shelves, hanging rails, shoe racks, and drawers arranged around your walls.

This works beautifully if your bedroom is large enough and your wardrobe is organized. It gives the space a boutique feel and makes getting dressed genuinely enjoyable.

The only thing to keep in mind — open dressing rooms collect dust faster. So if you’re not the type to organize regularly, a closed setup might suit you better.

Best for: Large bedrooms, modern villas, people who love a curated wardrobe aesthetic.

Closed Dressing Rooms

Same internal organization as an open dressing room — but with doors. The doors keep everything dust-free, tidy-looking, and private.

You can go with hinged doors for a classic feel or sliding doors if space is tight. Both work well. The difference is mostly about the room size and your preference.

At WOODCRAFT, our closed dressing rooms are available in wooden doors, aluminum-framed glass doors, and full aluminum panels — each giving a completely different character to the space.

Best for: Apartments, smaller bedrooms, anyone who prefers a clean look from the outside.

Walk-In Wardrobes

A walk-in wardrobe is a dedicated room — or a large alcove — where you physically enter to get dressed. It’s divided into zones: hanging for dresses and shirts, shelving for folded items, drawers for accessories, and a section for shoes.

When it’s done right, it genuinely changes your morning routine. Everything has a place, everything is visible, and the space itself feels like it was designed around you — because it was.

Best for: Master bedrooms in villas and large apartments across 6th of October and Sheikh Zayed.

Materials — This Is Where Quality Lives

The material you choose affects how your dressing room looks, how long it lasts, and how much it costs. Here’s an honest breakdown.

HPL (High-Pressure Laminate)

One of the most popular choices in Egypt right now. HPL is scratch-resistant, moisture-resistant, and comes in a huge range of finishes — wood textures, solid colors, stone looks. It holds up extremely well to daily use, which is why we recommend it for families with children.

Lamy Gloss & Hey Gloss

High-gloss finishes that give the dressing room a sharp, polished look. Light reflects off the surface beautifully, which makes the space feel larger and more premium. Slightly more delicate than HPL in terms of fingerprints and scratches — but the visual result is worth it for the right space.

UV Lak

A UV-coated painted finish applied directly to MDF. It gives a smooth, seamless, matte or gloss appearance with incredible depth. Very popular for modern and minimal interior styles.

Aluminum

If you want something contemporary and long-lasting, aluminum is hard to beat. It doesn’t warp, doesn’t swell with humidity, and the frames give a clean architectural look that works particularly well in modern villas and compounds.

Natural Wood Veneer

For a warm, classic feel — natural wood veneer brings something into a space that no manufactured material can replicate. It ages beautifully and gives the dressing room a richness that photographs well and lives even better.

Accessories — The Details That Make It Work

A dressing room without good accessories is just a wardrobe with extra steps. The internal organization is what makes the space actually functional.

At WOODCRAFT, every dressing room we build is fitted with accessories that match the way you actually use your clothes:

Pull-out shoe racks — angled or flat, visible or hidden behind a door panel. Keeps shoes organized and damage-free.

Soft-close drawer systems — smooth, quiet, and built to last. No slamming, no rattling.

Velvet-lined jewelry drawers — divided compartments for rings, necklaces, watches, and small accessories. Everything in one place, never tangled.

Full-length mirrors — integrated into the doors or mounted on a side panel. Essential, and often an afterthought in cheaper builds.

Built-in LED lighting — strip lights inside shelves, above the hanging rail, or under the shoe rack. Makes finding things easier and makes the dressing room look genuinely beautiful, especially at night.

Pull-out trouser racks — for folded trousers and jeans without creasing them.

Soft-close hinges and handles — the difference between a dressing room that feels premium and one that just looks it.

Sizing — How Much Space Do You Actually Need?

This is the question we get most often. The answer is: less than you think.

A functional dressing room needs a minimum depth of 55–60cm on each wall for hanging clothes. The width and height are flexible. We’ve built elegant, fully accessorized dressing rooms in spaces starting from 2 square meters, and walk-in wardrobes in spaces of 6 square meters and above.

The most important thing isn’t the size of the room — it’s how it’s designed. A well-planned 3-square-meter dressing room will outperform a poorly planned 8-square-meter one every single time.

When you come to our showroom in Sheikh Zayed, we measure your space and design the layout on the spot. No guesswork, no approximations.

What Affects the Price?

Dressing room pricing in Egypt varies a lot — and for good reason. Here’s what actually drives the cost:

Size — The larger the surface area, the more material and labor.

Material — HPL is generally more affordable than natural wood veneer or high-gloss finishes. Aluminum falls in the mid-to-premium range depending on the profile quality.

Accessories — A basic interior with simple shelves costs less than a fully accessorized build with soft-close drawers, LED lighting, and integrated mirrors.

Doors — No doors is the most economical option. Hinged wooden doors add cost. Aluminum-framed glass sliding doors are typically the most premium option.

Customization — Any non-standard sizing, unusual room shapes, or specific design requests require additional engineering and may affect the timeline and price.

At WOODCRAFT, we’re transparent about pricing from the first conversation. We don’t quote you one number and charge another.
